Georgia CKI Service Initiatives

The Georgia CKI Board has adopted Better World Books as an official district project.

To date, the Book Drives for Better Lives™ Program has raised millions of dollars for literacy, diverted millions

of books from landfills, created jobs for hundreds of people, and provided wonderful books to millions of

readers worldwide. The rest of the story is still being written. We invite you to join us on our journey. It’s only

going to get better.

  Better World Books

Adopted April 19, 2009

In 2001, the Georgia CKI developed a new District Service Focus project called Health and Exercise Always Lead to Happier Youth (HEALTHY).  This program focuses on teaching children to eat healthier and lead more active lifestyles.

The most fundamental part of children being active is having a safe place to play. The Playground Project was created in 2001 in conjunction with project HEALTHY to assist in this mission.

The playground project has two components: 1. Raise funds to build playgrounds   2. Cleaning, painting, fixing, and equipping existing playgrounds.
