District Day of Service

District Day of Service is an event that is open to all members and prospective members of the Kiwanis Family! We will join together for a few hours of service, fellowship, and fun! Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to bond with members from all across the Kiwanis Family!

More Information: 
The Southern Conservation Trust (SCT) is a nonprofit organization based in Fayette County, Georgia, dedicated to conserving and protecting natural spaces across the Southeast. SCT manages over 70 public and private conservation projects, including parks, trails, and wildlife habitats, with a strong focus on land stewardship, environmental education, and community access to nature. Through hands-on volunteer opportunities, SCT engages individuals and groups in activities like trail maintenance, invasive species removal, gardening, and habitat restoration—empowering communities to actively participate in environmental preservation while learning about the ecosystems they help protect.

Typical Responsibilities:
  • Trail maintenance
    • Clear paths, remove debris, improve accessibility
  • Invasive species
    • Help remove plants that threaten native ecosystems
  • Habitat support
    • Build wildlife habitats like bee hotels, bat boxes, or turtle enclosures
  • Animal enclosure maintenance
    • Assist in caring for animal habitats at their Nature Center
  • Gardening & landscaping
    • Help beautify parks and pollinator gardens
