Fall Membership Retreat
The big fall event is coming up on the weekend of November 3-5, 2007. The registration deadline has been extended to Friday, October 20. I have attached a copy of the registration form, which has already been distributed through a number of sources and is available at www.georgiacirclek.org. Forms must be post-marked by Friday to avoid the late charge shown on the form and to guarantee your attendees a souvenir t-shirt. Each club may send their faculty and Kiwanis advisor at no charge (thanks to the generosity of Georgia Kiwanis), but the forms must still be post-marked by the deadline to receive the souvenir t-shirt. I will expect that the advisors attend the entire weekend unless they indicate otherwise.
The fee of $75 includes all materials, two nights lodging at the FFA Camp bunk houses (which means attendees need to bring either bed linens or sleeping bags), breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and lunch and dinner on Saturday. On-time registrants will also receive the souvenir t-shirt and other give-aways.
The agenda for the weekend is as follows:
Friday, November 3
5-8 pm/Registrations
8 pm/Opening Session
9:30 pm/Hayride, games, and fun!
Saturday, November 4
7:30 am/Breakfast
8:30 am/CWL Program (Certified Workshop Leader)
9 am-Noon/A variety of workshops
Noon/Lunch
12:45 pm/District Board Meeting
3:00 pm/Annual Softball and Football games
5:45 pm/Dinner
7-9:30 pm/Evening Session including officer roundtables and division meetings
10 pm/Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball
Sunday, November 5
7:30 am/Breakfast
8:30 am/Optional Worship Service
9:00 am/Closing Session
11:00 am/Adjournment
Please send as many of your members as you can to FMR as this is one of the most valuable weekends they will ever have during their collegiate career. Your Circle K club will benefit greatly from participating. See you there!
Interclubs
Interclubs are a great way for Circle K members to enjoy one of the three major tenets of the organization. An “interclub” is a meeting or event that four members of a Circle K club attend of another Kiwanis Family entity. In other words, if four members of your Circle K club go to another Circle K club’s meeting, service project, social, etc., then they get credit for an interclub. This holds true when they go to visit their sponsoring Kiwanis club, a Key Club, Builder’s Club, K-Kids Club, or Aktion Club as well.
Your members will make friends and get great ideas from other clubs when they interclub. Encourage your club to go on at least one interclub per month and then make sure they report them on their CMR (Club Monthly Report) form. The District Board set a goal of having 200 reported interclubs this year, so each club will need to play a part in the realization of that goal. Please let me know if you have any questions or need any help in this area!
Club Monthly Report Forms
Speaking of CMRs, please talk to your club and make sure they have filed their reports since April 1. Thus far, six reports have been due. If they missed filing any earlier this year, they can submit a compilation report for the missing months. CMRs give me, the District Governor, Lt. Governor, and Regional Administrators valuable information about your Circle K club so that assistance can be offered and suggestions made for service project ideas. The CMRs also give our District Secretary the number of service hours performed by the club and the interclubs for the month. These figures are then reported to Circle K International. So, please help Georgia Circle K achieve 100% CMR collection and encourage your club to send their reports in today!
